My name is Kaesha Purdy, I’m from Pukalani, Maui. I’ve been paddling for 12 years at Hawaiian canoe club. I’m a college student and collegiate rower at Pacific University pursuing a bachelors degree in Sports Management and Criminal Justice. I enjoy perpetuating Hawaiian culture and developing my leadership skills.

My name is Mikaela Benavides and I am born and raised in Wailuku, Maui. I have been paddling for with Hawaiian Canoe Club for seven years. This summer, I am excited to continue growing with my ‘ohana wa’a!

My name is David McKeague, I’m from Haʻikū, Maui. I’ve been paddling for 4 years at Hawaiian canoe club. I’m looking forward to paddling this summer because it helps keep me in shape and working for the Kamali‘i Program to help me become a better leader and learn more about Hawaiian culture.

My name is Hayden Long, I’m from Laupāhoehoe on Hawaiʻi island. I’ve been paddling for 2 years at Hawaiian Canoe Club (HCC). What I’m looking forward to this summer is States because it will be held on Oʻahu. I look forward to competing against other teams, meeting new people, and representing my community while doing something I enjoy.

Kailea McKeague
ALAKAʻI
My name is Kailea Kamahaʻo McKeague. I was born in Wailuku raised in Haʻikū, here on Maui. This is my fourth year of paddling with Hawaiian Canoe Club. This summer I am looking forward to teaching while learning from those around me, while leaving a positive yet inspiring example for the keiki participating in this program.

Lawakua Soʻo
ALAKAʻI
ʻO wau ʻo Lawakua Soʻo. I am from Kula, Maui, and I have been paddling for 2 years. This summer, I am excited to be an alakaʻi, helping younger kids learn about our sport, ‘āina and culture. I look forward to spending time with these keiki, creating memories, helping them grow as kanaka, and give back to the lāhui.

My name is Lehiwa Kaleikaumaka Lani-Montira. I am from Wailuku, Waiʻehu, Maui. I’ve been paddling for a total of 7 years, but only 4 years at Hawaiian Canoe Club. Something I am looking forward to this summer is definitely building pilina and making connections not only with the keiki in the Kamaliʻi Program but with everyone that shares the same aloha for our sport of hoe waʻa.

My name is Melia Kahoʻohanohano. I am from Wailuku, Maui and I’ve been paddling for 3 years at Hawaiian Canoe Club. Something I am looking forward to this summer is building and making connections with new people and helping the keiki at the Kamaliʻi Program have fun while learning something new every day.

My name is Selah Mendoza, I was born in Maui, raised in Makawao. This is my 1st year paddling for Hawaiian canoe club but my 3rd year paddling in general. I’m excited to get better at paddling and make new friendships in the Kamali’i Program and help keiki learn the culture and bond with them.

‘O Taytum ko’u inoa . I am from and currently living in Wailuku, Maui. I have been paddling for four years now. This summer I’m excited to kōkua the keiki into starting new journeys and memories.

Tehya Dudoit

ʻO Tehya Kamaliaʻokamoana Kaualaʻi Dudoit koʻu inoa. I was born and currently live in Makawao , Maui and also raised on Molokaʻi where my family is from. I've been paddling for Hawaiian club for five years. I started paddling when I was around four years old with my dad. This summer I am excited to give ʻike to the keiki of Kamaliʻi and see their growth througout this summer , whether its through paddling or Kamaliʻi Program.
