LAKE ‘OHANA SCHOLARSHIP
Hawaiian Canoe Club offers the Lake ‘Ohana Scholarship in honor of our founding family. Applicants must be accepted or enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year college and be an active Hawaiian Canoe Club paddler. Award amount is based on the number of applicants.
All applications must be submitted online by 5:00pm Wednesday, July 17, 2024.

Maui County Hawaiian Canoe Association is offering youth and adult scholarships to paddlers of MCHCA who have been active for at least 2 consecutive years for youth and 3 consecutive years for adults.

How to apply:
- Apply Online
- Submit essay or video answering 2024 questions
- Submit your transcript or proof of acceptance from an accredited educational institution
- Letter of recommendation (which can be uploaded at the same time as your video from either: a current or past paddling coach or an Association officer or official (for volunteers).
2024 Topic: Building Our Future
Submit an essay, a 2-3 minute video, slides, or audio presentation to answer the following:
- How will your career pathways benefit HCRA, the paddling community/hoe wa’a community, and the native Hawaiian community?
- Is there a specific area within HCRA that you’re interested in volunteering? Why?
- Thinking with a “big picture” perspective, what would you like to see implemented for the paddling community in the next 10 years?
Eligible applicant awards range from $500 to a maximum of $20001, to be awarded to one applicant or multiple applicants during the 2024 HCRA State Championships. Previous awardees may apply again annually.
