Feb 27 Tsunami Evacuation Feb 27 Tsunami Evacuation
Over 40 HCC members and supporters came out on Saturday, February 27 to help evacuate the canoes and equipment from the HCC hale during the tsunami warning. All 20 canoes were taken to War Memorial field in Wailuku. Amas, paddles, and other equipment were stored upstairs. Over 50 OC1s and OC2 were also loaded and taken away. The canoes were brought back later in the day when the warning was called off. Many members worked before sunrise and after sunset. MAHALO NUI to everyone who came out!! Hawaiian CC no ka 'oi!
